The Broadway League and The Times Square Alliance announced today that the 17th Annual Broadway on Broadway® presented by Continental Airlines, will be held on Sunday, September 14th at 11:30 a.m. in Times Square (entrance on 43rd Street and Broadway). The annual free outdoor concert brings together stars and performances from current and upcoming Broadway productions to celebrate the beginning of the Broadway season.

The annual show will feature appearances by stars from upcoming productions, and dazzling performances from some of Broadway's most beloved shows. A complete list of shows performing will be announced later this summer.

For the event, Times Square will be "shut down" to make room for the 50,000-plus attendees and this kickoff to the 2008-2009 Broadway season stretches from 43rd to 47th Streets. Fans should arrive early for a good spot.

In addition to individual performances, the event features a grand finale replete with a rain of confetti.
