13P, the Obie Award-winning collective of 13 playwrights, will return to New York City this spring with two back to back premieres at two different downtown spaces.

First up will be Gary Winter's drama At Said, premiering at Performance Space 122 (150 1st Avenue at 9th Street) from May 13 through June 4, followed by Kate E. Ryan's docu-play Mark Smith premiering at Walkerspace, (46 Walker Street, between Church Street and Broadway) from June 3 through July 2.

At Said "is the story of Sybil, an immigrant mother who is typing her memories of a childhood spent under an oppressive regime. Her apartment building seems to lie at the end of the world, shared by her shut-in daughter, her drug-dealing boyfriend, and the super who has Jesus in his back pocket. Sybil's typewriter sucks history from anyone who touches the keys, threatening to swallow all their lives.

At Said will be directed by Tim Farrell and the cast will include Lia Aprile, Gilbert Cruz, Marisa Echeverria, and Anita Hollander.

Winter's plays have been produced at the Cherry Lane Alternative, HERE, E.S.T., Geva, Little Theater, Long Wharf, and the Brick. He has received fellowships from Stephen Spielberg's Righteous Persons Foundation, the Dramatists Guild, the Lark Theater and the MacDowell Colony. Winter is also Literary Manager at The Flea Theater.

Mark Smith "hints at the story of an 80's rock star who has fallen into obscurity. We go behind the music to the people who knew him—his high school music teacher, his mother, his hair stylist. Told mainly in documentary form the play takes us on an unusual drive through a mythical town complete with reenactments and special concerts."

Ken Rus Schmoll will direct the play and Ken Nintzel will be the production designer. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Clubbed Thumb, The Flea, and the Ontological-Hysteric have produced Kate E. Ryan's plays. Her work has also been presented at Annex Theatre in Seattle, the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab, and at the Williamstown Theatre Festival.

Mariana Newhard will serve as producer for At Said, Megan Goodchild will serve as producer for Mark Smith, and Maria Goyanes is the supervising producer for 13P.

"13P was formed in 2003 by 13 mid-career playwrights concerned about what the trend of endless readings and new play development programs is doing to the texture and ambition of new American plays. 13P realizes full productions of new plays. The resources of the company are placed at the disposal of the playwright at work, who serves as the company's artistic director during the production of his or her play." The members of 13P are Sheila Callaghan, Erin Courtney, Madeleine George, Rob Handel, Ann Marie Healy, Julia Jarcho, Young Jean Lee, Winter Miller, Sarah Ruhl, Kate E. Ryan, Lucy Thurber, Anne Washburn, and Gary Winter.

13P's annual benefit will be The Triskaidekaphiliac Prom Monday, May 1 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Lolita (266 Broome Street, between Allen and Orchard), featuring The Vintage DJ with The Salesmen, The Sho'Nuffs, The Innocents, Vixens, Inc. Tickets will be $20.00 at the door
