'13, A New Musical' Digital Release Available Starting 9/30

Ghostlight Records has confirmed the 9/30 digital release of the Original Broadway Cast Album of '13, A New Musical'. This will be a rare instance where the cast album is recorded and released before performances have officially begun. The physical CD will be available for purchase at The Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre in the weeks ahead, as well as via the Ghostlight website.  A CD version will be in retail stores in time for the Holiday season. '13, A New Musical' is "A grown-up story about growing up, featuring the only all-teenage cast ever to hit Broadway…" Additional information about the show follows below.
 
The OCR was recorded in New York City over Labor Day weekend, and an extraordinary 'Making Of' video may be seen here: http://www.sh-k-boom.com/13Video.html. The music was Produced by Jeffrey Lesser and Jason Robert Brown, and Executive Produced by Ghostlight President Kurt Deutsch and Bill Rosenfield. Ghostlight is proud to continue their relationship with Jason Robert Brown, having already released the hugely successful cast album of The Last Five Years as well as his solo album, Wearing Someone Else's Clothes.

'13, A New Musical' features music and lyrics by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown (Parade, The Last Five Years).  The show began previews on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 and officially opens at The Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 W. 45th Street) on Sunday, October 5, 2008. With a book by award winning children's author & songwriter Dan Elish ("Born Too Short, Confessions of an 8th Grade Basket Case") and veteran writer for TV and film Robert Horn ("Designing Women"), '13, A New Musical' is directed by Tony Award nominee Jeremy Sams (The Sound of Music in the West End) and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli (South Pacific). Tom Kitt (High Fidelity) is the Music Director.
