11th Annual New York Burlesque Festival Kicks Off Next Week, 9/26

The Annual New York Burlesque Festival is the largest and most acclaimed festival of its kind in the world. It has attracted sold-out crowds since its premiere in 2002. This September marks the 11th year for this celebrated event!

Producers, Thirsty Girl & Pontani Productions will once again, serve up 4 nights of glitter and glamour in Gotham, with over 120 eye-popping performances from international leading burlesque and variety entertainers at four of NYC's hottest nightclubs. Bringing together over 2,500 enthusiastic audience members who, in addition to enjoying tassels and tail feathers will be entertained by live music, international DJs, variety and circus performers and boylesque. Each night includes burlesque boutiques, where you can try on custom corsets, peruse pasties, hair ornaments, vintage dresses, lingerie and this year's festival has expanded to include a daytime Burlesque Bazaar at The Slipper Room. The bazaar will feature over a dozen vendors and will showcase a live pin-up shoot and a legends round-table, featuring a panel discussion with stars from the Golden Era of Burlesque.

Friday, September 27th Rev your engines for the weekend with The Premiere Party at Williamsburg hotspot Brooklyn Bowl! Hosted by Albert Cadabra & Shelly the Singing Siren, this Friday night of debauchery features live music from Broadway Brassy and the Brass Knuckles and performances from over 25 burlesque bombshells from around the globe, including: Lillian Starr(AU), Miss Blondis (Russia), Minnie Tonka (NYC), Invoncita & Her Matadores de Amor (Stockholm), Dixie Ramone (Italy), Tabitha Taboo (UK), Tansy (NYC), Go-Go Harder (NYC),Aero Trapeze (NYC), Peaches N' Gin (AU) and many more! Plus DJ Fresh Prince of Darkness will have you dancing in the lanes.

Saturday, September 28th Put on your top hat n' tails and join the King of Comedy, Murray Hill for The Saturday Spectacular at BB Kings! This stellar night is set in a 1920's-style supper club atmosphere and is filled with the crème de la crème of the world's finest burlesque performers. Hot Headliners include: Indigo Blue (WA), Angie Pontani (NYC), Perle Noire (NOLA), Agent Lynch (UK), Tigger! (NYC), Lux La Croix (LA), Trixie Little (NYC), Mr. Gorgeous (NYC), Jo Boob Weldon (NYC), Kitty Kitty Bang Bang (UK), Missy Lisa (TX), The Maine Attraction(NYC), Gravity Plays Favorites (IL), burlesque legend Tiffany Carter (LV) and many more!

Sunday, September 29th The festival goes out with one last pastie and circumstance at Manhattan's Highline Ballroom with The Golden Pastie Awards and Super Club Stage Show! Join notorious Scotty the Blue Bunny in his debut of hosting this Oscar Awards styled evening of high kicks and hijinks. Featuring performances by Polly Wood (WA), Bettie Blackheart & FrankieDoggenstein (Helsinki), Jonny Porkpie (NYC), Miss Glitter Pain Killer (France), The Schlep Sisters (NYC), Flora & Leyla (Amsterdam) burlesque legend April March (NY), DJ Fresh Prince of Darkness & more! This live show also features awards ceremony that both honors and pokes fun at the world's finest burlesque performers with DDD-sized Golden Pasties for winners.
