Celebrating "A Decade of Funny," the 10th Annual New York Arab-American Comedy Festival will take place October 24th - October 27th. The annual weekend-long series will feature over 30 comedians over the four days and will mount six shows which will take place at two New York City locations.
Founded by Maysoon Zayid and Dean Obeidallah, the American comedy series was created 10 years ago to combat negative portrayals of Arab-Americans in media and generate exposure for top level Arab American talent that is sorely underrepresented in the entertainment industry today.
In addition to Dean Obeidallah, the co-director of the recently released comedy documentary "The Muslims Are Coming!" now available on iTunes/Amazon and Maysoon Zayid, a regular contributor to The Daily Beast, featured performers include Joe DeRosa who is a regular on the Opie and Anthony Show, Fox News Red Eye, and just released a new comedy album You Will Die. The Festival also features Ramy Youssef who stars alongside Scott Baio in Nick at Nite's See Dad Run, Sammy Obeid who just did 1000 consecutive nights of comedy and was featured on The Conan O'Brien Show, and Mike Batayeh, who had a recurring role on Breaking Bad and also appeared on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
