Disney Theatrical Productions today announced that its unprecedented Kids Go Free! ticket offer generated record-breaking sales totaling $1 million in its first three days. The offer began at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 1 and will continue until 11:59 PM on Friday December 12, while seats remain. Under the terms of the offer, ticket buyers can receive one free child's admission for kids 18 and under with each ticket purchased to all performances of Disney's Broadway shows between January 6, 2009 and March 13, 2009.
"We've always been gigantically proud that our shows are often people's entry to Broadway, but even we have been overwhelmed by the response from first-time theatergoers," said Thomas Schumacher, producer and president of Disney Theatrical Group. "Knowing that these families will be making memories that will last a lifetime is enormously gratifying."
