Co-founder of the London Royal Ballet Company, the Ecuadorian Frederick Ashton dedicated much of his choreographic works to his muse, Margot Fonteyn. Sylvia was not the exception, and the dance diva starred the London premiere in 1952. The addition of this piece to the Teatro Colón ballet repertoire is a memorable event, resuming contact with Ashton’s refined style, after Margarite et Armand, staged in 2011.
