Ballet Onegin, based on the famous verse novel by Pushkin, narrates the story of a bored Russian aristocrat who rejects the love of a young girl Tatiana and prefer flirting with her ??sister Olga. A few years later, Onegin realizes he made ??a mistake - it is already too late. Cranka's famous ballet requires expressive performances, brilliant dance technique and a very deep sense of emotional expression of individual characters. In addition to beautiful scenes 'pas de deux' of Onegin and Tatiana, the show includes impressive group dance scenes. When creating the music for this ballet, John Cranko and Kurt-Heinz Stolze worked mainly with Tchaikovsky's piano works and his symphonic fantasy 'Francesca da Rimini'.
