Jack Newman, AMDA´s director of International Outreach, together with Singing Coach and Musical Director Christopher Stephens are in charge of recruiting talents around the world. They had already seen so many artists who auditioned for them coming from the most prestigious schools. This year they have already been to countries like China, Ghana , Nigeria and coming up soon, Latin america.
Jack Newman says: ¨My position as the Director of International Outreach was added one year ago. My objective is to travel the world seeking out talented youth who have a desire to pursue an education and career in the performing arts. To that end, we have scheduled a South American Scholarship Audition Tour with stops in Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina¨.
Auditions in Buenos Aires will be on Saturday October 6th at 10 am. All performers who audition, and who are accepted, are awarded scholarships to AMDA ranging from $1000 to $15, 000 per year of study. A monologue and a song are required for the audition.For more information visit www.amda.edu
