Pink is the new black! West De Pere is set to stage “Legally Blonde: The Musical.” This new contemporary musical comedy follows Elle Woods, a bubbly and blonde sorority president who is dumped by her arrogant Harvard-bound boyfriend, because he’s looking for a “Jackie,” not a “Marilyn.” Determined to win him back and follow him to Harvard, Elle applies to the prestigious law school. To the surprise of her peers, Elle is accepted into the program and ventures out into the cutthroat world that is Harvard Law, but to her own surprise, she discovers that she can accomplish more on her own than with a man by her side. “Legally Blonde: The Musical” adds a modern twist on the classic lesson, “never judge a book by its cover,” and demonstrates one girl’s perseverance in the face of adversity.
