A children’s book sparks a lively confrontation in 1959 Montgomery in this Midwest première by Kenneth Jones. Inspired by true events, "Alabama Story" centers on Emily Wheelock Reed, a fearless no-nonsense librarian who refuses to remove a children’s book from the state library, despite a campaign spearheaded by the disarming but vocal segregationist Senator E.W. Higgins.
