The Meyer Theatre, once known as the FOX Theatre, opened 80 years ago in 1930 and has been entertaining guests ever since. November 6, in celebration of their 80 years of entertainment, the Meyer Theatre will present the third annual "Starstruck at the Meyer," a fundraiser to keep the Meyer Theatre maintain its operations and support the building's restorations.
The Meyer Theatre has been host to many celebrities and Hollywood stars during its time in operation, including Nat King Cole, Louie Armstrong, Victor Borge and Donald O'Conner. This year's fundraiser will showcase the music and comedy of the artists who performed on the Meyer stage during the past 80 years. WBAY's Cami Rapson and Let Me Be Frank Productions' Frank Hermans will act as the evening's celebrity MCs. Bay City Swing has already been booked for the event and more than a dozen local acts have been scheduled to perform during the course of the fundraiser, including Knights on Broadway and members of Let Me Be Frank Productions.
