THE LION KING Opens Tonight in Appleton

The Fox Cities' return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tonight, Thursday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, May 5. The production performed two preview performances on Tuesday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 10.

In the Fox Cities, THE LION KING will play Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Saturday matinees will begin at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday matinees will begin at 1:00 p.m. There will be a 2:00 p.m. matinee performance on Thursday, May 2.

Maria Van Laanen, the Center's executive vice president, is thrilled by the community's interest in the return engagement. "With a show like DISNEY'S THE LION KING we certainly expected tickets would be in hot demand, but the enthusiasm for the four-week engagement is really promising. Tickets are selling very well, and I want to stress that there are still tickets available through the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center and urge ticket buyers to visit ticketmaster.com or call the ticket office directly for best available seating. We 're here to help you have the best theater experience possible."

Tickets for DISNEY'S THE LION KING start at $35 and may be purchased at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center's ticket office and online at lionking.com . To charge tickets by phone, call Ticketmaster at (866) 870-2717. Premium Ticket Packages, which include prime seat locations, a commemorative souvenir program and an exclusive merchandise item, are also available. Additional fees may apply. The Fox Cities P.A.C. is located at 400 West College Avenue, Appleton, WI.

The production features Timothy Carter as "Scar," Dionne Randolph as "Mufasa," Nteliseng Nkhela as "Rafiki," Mark David Kaplan as "Zazu," Ben Lipitz as "Pumbaa," Nick Cordileone as "Timon," Jelani Remy as "Simba," Syndee Winters as "Nala," Keith Bennett as "Banzai," Rashada Dawan as "Shenzi," and Robbie Swift as "Ed."

The role of "Young Simba " is alternated between Zavion J. Hill and Adante Power, and the role of "Young Nala" is alternated between Sade Phillip-Demorcy and Kailah McFadden.
The North American touring productions of THE LION KING have been seen by more than 14 million theatergoers and grossed over $983 million to date. Having already played more than 70 cities across North America, THE LION KING now proudly makes its return to the Fox Cities P.A.C. The current schedule is listed below.
