From one of the original writers of NBC's "Seinfeld," the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center leads a journey back in time with Pat Hazell's The Wonder Bread Years July 6-31, 2010 in the Center's Kimberly-Clark Theater. Performed by Wisconsin's own comedic genius, Milwaukee's John McGivern salutes the baby boomer generation with a fast-paced, hilarious production that gracefully walks the line between stand-up and theater. A regular face on "The Tonight Show," Hazell has found a unique way salute to pop culture Americana and connect with baby boomers nationwide, leaving them laughing and savoring the past like never before with a restored sense of wonder.

Tickets for The Wonder Bread Years are $35, with a $5 discount for performances July 6-10. Tickets are available by phone through Ticketmaster at (800) 982-2787 or the Center's ticket office at (920) 730-3760. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center's ticket office or online at foxcitiespac.com. Groups of 15 or more call (920) 730-3786. Additional fees may apply.

Boomer humorist Pat Hazell highlights the touchstones of the American family upbringing in his play, The Wonder Bread Years. The Wonder Bread Years, is a hilarious one-man show and tell reminding us that there is still a kid inside all of us and a sense of wonder that is waiting to be unlocked. A salute to pure escapism and the baby boomer generation, The Wonder Bread Years is akin to opening a time capsule packed with the most common youth-filled joys of childhood, such as: Hula Hoop contests, lawn darts, Kool-Aid, Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots, Big Wheels, Eskimo Pies, Clackers, Tuffskin Jeans and riding in the "way back" of the country squire wagon- reminding us all that we share more in common than we have differences.

The Wonder Bread Years, described as "pure un-pasteurized nostalgia" by the LA Times was aired on PBS as a one-hour special, where Hazell was referred to as "America's foremost pop culture anthropologist." This fast-paced production has been hailed as "infectiously charming" by LA Weekly. Baby boomers and their families are enjoying a show that not only restores a much-needed sense of wonder, but also leaves audiences reminiscing for days gone by, savoring the past like never before.

The Wonder Bread Years stars Wisconsin's own John McGivern. A well-known performer in the Milwaukee area, McGivern is the writer and performer of four critically acclaimed one-man-shows: Midwest Side Stories, More Midwest Side Stories, One of the Boys - Stories from the Midwest and his all-new show, A Midsummer Night McGivern. McGivern is also widely recognized for his frequent visits with Dave and Carole on 96.5 WKLH and a weekly entertainment segment on WTMJ-4's "The Daily Dish McGivern Style." You can catch McGivern on Time Warner Cable's Wisconsin on Demand Channel 1111 in "Journeys with John McGivern," or visit johnmcgivern.com.

The weekly performance schedule for The Wonder Bread Years at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is: Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. with Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2:00 p.m.
