In response to the success of the musical comedy Church Basement Ladies, Troupe America is back with a sequel production-Church Basement Ladies 2: A Second Helping.
The show features the familiar characters of the first Church Basement Ladies show, who executive producer Curt Wollan describes as the "Steel Magnolias of the Prairie." This sequel follows the group as they cope with life, death, adventure and opportunity.
Church Basement Ladies was written by Jim Stowell and Jessica Zuehlke, with music and lyrics by Drew Jansen. The musical features the pastor, three main kitchen cooks and a daughter who run the kitchen of a small American church. The characters are faced with the everyday challenges of keeping a congregation together, and throughout the course of the musical, Stowell and Zuehlke present the four primary female characters as the heart of the church itself.
Church Basement Ladies 2 opens on January 19th at the Meyer Theatre. Shows are at 2pm and 7pm on the 19th and 20th. For tickets and reservations, please visit the Resch Center Box Office, call 920-494-3401 or visit www.meyertheatre.org.
