Fox Cities Performing Arts Center Announces Updates to the Board of Directors

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center's Board of Directors welcomes several new leaders while saying thank you to a number of retiring board members. Thomas Boldt, John Davis, Kevin Gilligan, Frank Kearny and Daniel Neufelder will fill vacancies created by retiring board members Robert Abernathy, Barb Merry, Cathie Tierney and Sarah Traas.

"We are happy to welcome these new members to our leadership team. We know each has a strong passion for the performing arts and our community," said Fox Cities P.A.C. President Maria Van Laanen. "I would also like to thank our retiring board members for their tireless dedication to the Center's success in our community."

"Our Board of Directors continues to be a group of top business and civic leaders who believe in this critically important community asset," said outgoing Fox Cities P.A.C. Board Chairman John J. Hogerty, II, who is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Treasurer of Bergstrom Corporation. "Our new Directors will continue the tradition of being wonderful stewards of our resources and strong advocates for the Center."

Current Board Member Beth Flaherty has been announced as Hogerty's successor and took over as Board Chair on July 1. Flaherty has served as president of the board of the Women's Fund and the Fox Valley Symphony and serves on the board of the Fox Cities Building for the Arts. She has also assisted with the Lawrence Academy of Music and Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust.


John Krause, a current board member, has also been re-elected to the role of treasurer on the Board of Directors. Krause is a partner with Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP, a full-service accounting and advisory firm that offers industry specialized services in audit, tax and management consulting. Krause first joined the board at the Center in 2012.

ABOUT THE NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Thomas J. Boldt is Chief Executive Officer of The Boldt Company, a national service provider through its Oscar J. Boldt Construction, Boldt Technical Service and Boldt Consulting Services businesses. Mr. Boldt is also Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for the State of Wisconsin Investment Board, Past Chair or Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce and the Aldo Leopold Foundation among other involvements in the community.

John R. Davis is the Chief Executive Officer of Great Northern Corporation, a privately-held provider of packaging solutions and point-of-sale display programs for industrial, commercial and retail products headquartered in Appleton, WI. Mr. Davis also served on several industry boards as well as leadership positions in the community such as the boards of United Way- Fox Cities, ThedaCare and the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum.


Kevin Gilligan joined Appvion on June 9, 2014 as President of the paper division and had previously spent 20 years working for H. B. Fuller Company out of St. Paul Minnesota. Mr. Gilligan earned a master's degree in business administration (marketing and operations management) from Indiana University and a bachelor's degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan.


Frank Kearny moved to the Fox Valley in 1978 where he co-founded Banner Packaging, Inc. specializing in flexible packaging for food and industrial use. Bemis went on to purchase that company in 1995 where Mr. Kearny would continue to grow Banner until his retirement. After retiring, Mr. Kearny became involved in various startups including Resource One International where he remains chair. Mr. Kearny is also very involved with the Visiting Nurses Association in Neenah.


Daniel Neufelder serves as president and CEO of Ministry Health Care, Wisconsin's second-largest healthcare system. Mr. Neufelder is active in professional organizations where he has served in several leadership positions including immediate past chairman of the Wisconsin Hospital Association Board of Directors and Board of Directors for Secura Insurance. Mr. Neufelder is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a certified public accountant.

The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center's Board of Directors oversees the nonprofit organization's strategic direction and fiscal responsibility. The mission of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is to serve as a gathering place for the community to engage in educational opportunities and enhance understanding and enjoyment of life through the creation and presentation of the arts. The Center does this by providing a premier venue for performing arts attractions and a dynamic environment for arts organizations. Board members volunteer their time and expertise, committing to three-year terms of service at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.
