The Fox Cities Performing Arts Center revealed the 2016-17 Bemis Company Education Series last night to a group of educators from throughout Northeast Wisconsin. The series of daytime performances is comprised of titles that connect with PreK-12 grade curriculum. Highlights include Bill Blagg's The Science of Magic, Mad River Theater Works' Everybody's Hero: The Jackie Robinson Story and Theatreworks USA Production of Pete the Cat.
"This season we are celebrating the voices of community and culture," said Fox Cities P.A.C. Director of Programming and Community Engagement Amy Gosz. "We will explore the many voices that make up our community and the impact various cultures have on shaping the world we live in today. These stories are shared through unique arts experiences and imaginative performances that tie directly back into lessons being learned in classrooms throughout Northeast Wisconsin."
The Bemis Company Education Series is a cornerstone of the Center's mission and is designed specifically to meet Wisconsin Academic Standards for students in grades PreK-12. Performances are selected for their connection to classroom curriculum, current classroom topics and ability to engage students through various art forms. The Center provides study guides and resource materials for all performances and coordinates classroom workshops whenever possible. Ticket prices are subsidized at $5-$7 through Annual Partner support and scholarship tickets are available to students in need of financial assistance. The series annually draws 23,000 students from the Fox Cities and throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
Reservations for the 2016-17 Bemis Company Education Series are available to public and private schools, state licensed family or group child care centers and state-registered home schools. Reservations may be made by calling (920) 730-3726 or at foxcitiespac.com/educators.
