With characters ranging from Worrying Worm and The Ugly Ducking to Laura Ingalls Wilder and Hamlet, the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center 's 2013-14 Bemis Company Education Series will create an exciting platform for learning onstage. The new lineup was announced Thursday, April 25 at the Center's annual Together for the Arts Educator Open House.
A cornerstone of the Center's mission-based programs, Executive Vice President Maria Van Laanen says the Bemis Company Education Series is more vital than ever to area students. "Each year, we welcome 23,000 students to experience their classroom lessons in a new way, and the student reactions are really powerful. When you take words from a history book or a concept like teamwork and present them live onstage, the impact is amplified. This series adds another dynamic to the quality of education in the Fox Cities and Northeast Wisconsin."
The Bemis Company Education Series is designed specifically to meet Wisconsin Model Academic and Common Core Standards for students in grades PreK-12, and feedback from educators says that the performances are hitting the right note. "The education series encourages students to explore the world through the arts, complementing the great educators and school systems that serve Northeast Wisconsin," said Van Laanen. "Education and lifelong learning are cornerstones of our mission at the Fox Cities P.A.C."
Reservations for the 2013-14 Bemis Company Education Series are only available to public and private school educators and home school groups. Reservations may be made by calling the group sales department at (920) 730-3786 or online at foxcitiespac.com/educators.
