FIDDLER ON THE ROOF will play at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton from November 27 through December 2. While this production remains the same moving work audiences love, in some ways, it breaks from tradition. Here's what you need to know before you see FIDDLER ON THE ROOF.
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF first opened on Broadway in 1964, and the original production won nine Tony Awards. It played for over 3,000 Broadway performances.
The show was made into movie in 1971, which won three Academy Awards.
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF features countless well-loved songs, including "Tradition," "If I Were a Rich Man," "Matchmaker, Matchmaker," "Sunrise, Sunset," and more.
While the revival is based on the original staging by Jerome Robbins, new direction by Bartlett Sher and new choreography by Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter offer a new take on the classic.
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF runs at the Fox Cities P.A.C. from November 27 through December 2. Tickets are still available.
