In this beautifully haunting play by Charles Aidman based on Edgar Lee Masters' “Spoon River
Anthology”, the former residents of the fictional town of Spoon River reach out from
beyond the grave with observations about life for the generations left behind. As
the citizens reflect on the dreams, secrets, and regrets of their lives, they paint a gritty and honest portrait of the town as all of their pasts are illuminated.
Accompanied by live singers and musicians, this show is not to be missed. The New York Post calls it “A dramatic presentation reduced to its simplest… terms moving and beautiful …an evening of astonishingly stirring emotional satisfaction.”
This production is supported in part by a grant from the Ruth Hart Fund, a program of the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts
