Playwright Rajiv Joseph folds love, creativity and happiness together in his brilliantly crafted new work. Abandoned by both her husband and her old dog, an origami artist is reduced to living alone in her messy studio. Just when her life hits bottom, she is befriended by a math teacher who introduces her to his troubled, brilliant teenaged student who is obsessed with origami. What seems like a small story methodically unfolds to explore the relationships between three everyday people with their own perspectives on the fragility of love, the fleeting nature of happiness and the challenge of creation. Joseph is the winner of numerous awards including the Vineyard Theatre’s Paula Vogel award. His play Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo was a finalist for the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
