Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol was one of the greatest influences in rejuvenating the old Christmas traditions of England. Written at the height of the English Industrial revolution, it contrasts images of extreme poverty and despair with moments of light, warmth and joy to remind us of the meaning of love and goodwill at the holiday. The tale begins on Christmas Eve. Scrooge is a greedy and stingy businessman, with no place in his life for kindness, compassion, charity or benevolence. When Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, he is warned to change his ways or face a miserable afterlife. He is visited by three additional ghosts who accompany him by turns to various scenes of his past, present and future with the hope of inspiring his transformation from miserly to kindhearted. Perseverance brings this classic for the whole family to life this December!
