Potted Potter, the hit Harry Potter parody, is coming to Anchorage. This "Unauthorized Harry Experience" features everyone's favorite characters, a special appearance from a fire-breathing dragon, brilliant songs, ridiculous props, and a generous helping of Hogwarts magic.
Playing to sold-out houses all over the world, including its first stop in Anchorage in 2016, Potted Potter takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing, or "potting," all seven Harry Potter books (and a real life game of Quidditch) into 70 hysterical minutes.
The New York Times raves, "Potted Potter casts the perfect spell over the audience."
Written and performed by Olivier Award-nominated actors and former Children's BBC hosts, Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, the play has garnered rave reviews from New York to Nashville, Chicago to Mexico City, and Critics' Picks from The New York Times, New York Magazine, Time Out London, Boston Globe, Chicago Daily Herald, and the New York Post.
Even if audiences that don't know the difference between a Horcrux and a Hufflepuff, Potted Potter will make them roar with laughter. This brilliant family entertainment is perfect for ages six to Dumbledore, who is very old indeed.
"Potted Potter - the Unauthorized Harry Experience - A Parody by Dan and Jeff" plays March 7-10 in the Discovery Theatre, presented by Anchorage Concert Association. Tickets available at CenterTix box office (263-ARTS) and anchorageconcerts.org.
