Don't feed the plants! Audrey II and the gang of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS will bring the rock comedy musical to the Atwood Concert Hall at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts this February.
According to the venue's website, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS is "a deviously delicious horror comedy rock musical that has devoured the hearts of theatregoers for more than 30 years. When meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant, he names it "Audrey II" - after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Krelborn, as long as he keeps feeding it BLOOD. Feed your need for musical hilarity with this sci-fi smash about a man-eating plant."
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS features lyrics and book by Howard Ashman (THE LITTLE MERMAID, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN) and music by Alan Menken (THE LITTLE MERMAID, BEAUTY AND THE BAST, ALADDIN). The original production opened off-Broadway where it ran for 5 years and over 2,000 performances. It remains the third-longest running and highest grossing off-Broadway musical of all time.
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at the Atwood Concert Hall will run February 20-25, 2018. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. August 21, 2017. The production is presented by the Anchorage Concert Association.
