Anchorage Community Theatre, in partnership with Dave Block and Midnight Sun Theatre, presents The 39 Steps, based on the classic Alfred Hitchcock movie, this week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening at 7 PM and Sunday afternoon at 3 PM. Audiences have loved it. The play just finished a run on Broadway of over 1100 performances and won two Tony Awards. The play's concept is to include the entirety of the film nearly verbatim onstage, but with a cast of four. One actor plays the hero, an actress plays three women with whom he has romantic entanglements, and two other actors play every other character: heroes, villains, men, and women! See our 30 second commercial on YouTube.

Shows are Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 PM and Sunday afternoons at 3 PM. Get your tickets online or call 868-4913. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors/military/students and $11 for kids under 12. ACT season ticket holders get $2 off.

Thanks to Christian Heppinstall!

Anchorage Community Theatre as well as other local non-profit theatre companies cannot operate without the support and donations from the community. ACT wishes to give special recognition to local theatre producer Christian Heppinstall. Christian is moving to San Francisco and has donated a wealth of amazing theatrical costumes, props and set pieces worth many thousands of dollars to our theatre. You will be seeing pieces of this collection over many years at ACT; and at other companies' productions. We regularly loan items to TBA Theatre, Cyrano's, Out North, ATY, the Alaska Fine Arts Academy in Eagle River, as well as school, church and other groups. Pieces from the collection are already used in The 39 Steps at ACT, and we promised several items for one of the summer plays at TBA the very first day we picked up these items. We wish Christian the very best and sincerely express our appreciation for his great generosity.
