Anchorage Community Theatre Ends Season with SHERLOCK HOLMES, 4/27-5/20

Anchorage Community Theatre presents Sherlock Homes, The Final Adventure, from April 27 to May 20, 2012. Schatzie Schaefers will direct the play, adapted by Steven Dietz, based on the original 1899 play by William Gillette and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and winner of the 2007 Edgar Award for Best Mystery Play.

Buy individual tickets online here. Shows are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 PM and Sunday at 3 PM. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for seniors/military/students. The theater is located at 1133 E. 70th Ave., Anchorage, Alaska.

The cast includes Robert Lecrone as DR. WATSON, Kevin T. Bennett as SHERLOCK HOLMES, Marty Baumann as King of Bohemia, John Mathot as James Larrabee, Becky Sheridan as Madge Larrabee, Daniel King as Sid Prince, Todd Sherwood as Moriarty, Lindsay Lamar as Irene Adler, and more. Director Schatzie Schaefers is one of Alaska's premier playwrights, directors and actors.

Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle is well-known for his series of tales about detective Sherlock Holmes. He was a extensive writer of science fiction stories, plays, romances, poetry, non-fiction and historical novels. Adapter Steven Dietz is prolific in his own right as an American playwright who was named one of the most-produced playwrights in 2010, according to The L Magazine, tied with Tennessee Williams and Edward Albee.
