The classic play Arsenic and Old Lace opens next Friday September 30 with a 7 PM show. The show runs from September 30 - October 23 with shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7, and Sunday afternoons at 3. Buy your tickets online or call 868-4913.
ACT presented Arsenic and Old Lace in 1957 with the Hollywood actor Boris Karloff playing the role written for him and preformed by him when the play originally opened on Broadway. Mr. Karloff was unavailable for our current production (having passed away in 1969), but you will see the renowned Linda Benson as Martha Brewster. Martha and her sister Abby are the kindest and most generous elderly ladies there could be. There is nothing that they would not do to help a person in need. We hope to have some on their home-made elderberry wine laced with arsenic, strychnine, and "just a pinch" of cyanide available at intermission. And don't be surprised if you feel the presence of Boris Karloff channeling through Bill McAllister, our local KTUU reporter, who appears as Jonathon Brewster. Mr Karloff's monetary donation in the 50s helped ACT build its original theater space in the early 60s. The sale of that building eventually led to the purchase of our current s pace and we expect Mr. Karloff's presense made the transition.
Don't wait too long before making reservations for this popular show. We already have a party of 20 attending on October 22. Buy your tickets online or call 868-4913.
