ACT will open SHERLOCK HOLMES: THE FINAL ADVENTURE tonight April 27. ACT will have a "pay what you can" preview performance Thursday at 7. Schatzie Schaefers is directing a great cast in this exciting and well-written play. Winner of the 2007 Edgar Award for Best Mystery Play. "Dietz's genius here is in creating both story and dialogue that could pass for Doyle's own. The playwright has created a gleeful whodunit that's both deeply original and an expert homage to all things Holmesian." —Phoenix New Times. "This witty, well-crafted script is very much an homage to Conan Doyle, and the play's greatest pleasure is seeing his iconic characters brought to life. A delightful evening of entertainment." —Arizona Republic.

This is a wonderful show for the whole family that will sell out so make your reservations early at www.actalaska.org or call 868-4913 for tickets. We already have reservations for all performances and the shows on May 9 & 10 are sold out to Lutheran Social Services of Alaska for a fundraiser. And thanks to AKEELA, Inc., and their donor, Dr. Brian Saylor, for sponsoring the show! We will be presenting a special performance for AKEELA on Wednesday May 16.

ACT's 2012/2013 Season. Focus on A Shayna Maedel.

A Shayna Maidel literally translates as "a pretty girl." It describes inner beauty and is an expression of love and of yearning hope. A powerful, moving and deeply affecting portrait of a family, which conveys the aftermath of the Holocaust through a poignant, imaginatively conceived examination of one divided family's experience. Set in New York City after World War II, the play has been widely produced by America's leading regional theatres, and went on to become a long-run Off-Broadway success. "…a tribute to the sustaining power of family and to man's indomitability." —NY Times. "…anyone who sees it will not soon forget it." —Atlanta Constitution.
