Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett’s play is based on the true story of a young Jewish girl who kept a diary of her time hiding from the Nazis in an attic of her father’s office during World War II. THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK was the winner of the 1956 Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award, Critics Circle Award and virtually every other coveted prize of the theatre. Very few plays have moved the Broadway critics to write such glowing notices, receiving unanimous acclaim from all the top New York reviewers.
