The Tennessee Williams Festival Year began with the sold-out documentary, Mr. Williams and Miss Wood, and will conclude in December with the revival of Cat on a Streetcar Named ‘Iguana' by Phil Bock. This musical tribute to the great playwright brings together characters from three of Williams' major plays at Big Dad's birthday party on his Jumbo Peanut Plantation. This show premiered at the ADOBE ten years ago, and Barbara Bock will again direct and design the production with some members of the original cast returning. You don't have to know Williams' plays to enjoy this parody, but you may recognize that "Stick" is a combination of Stanley from Streetcar and Brick from Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The Blanche character has brought along her Grandfather, the Old Poet from Night of the Iguana, as well as her collection of glass animals. The 12 songs keep things moving, and the closing anthem, "Simple Human Kindness," summarizes Williams' moral outlook.
