The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Starring Cody Ray Slaughter Comes to Spencer ImageElvis Aaron Presley died 40 years ago on Aug. 16, 1977, but the King's legacy lives on-not just in his music and movies-but through Elvis impersonators around the world. One of the world's finest is Cody Ray Slaughter, 25, who appears at Spencer Theater in "The Ultimate Elvis Tribute" on Friday, July 13 at 8 p.m. Excellent seats are available for $39-$59. Call the theater box office at 575.336.4800 or go online to www.spencertheater.com for tickets and information. A pre-show pork chop buffet ($20) is also available at 6 p.m.

Long hailed as one of the preeminent Elvis performers rocking around the world today, Slaughter, who was raised in Arkansas, developed a genuine passion for Elvis' music when just a teen. That love directed his career path into being named "People's Choice Award" in 2008 and receiving the New Horizon Award for Best New Elvis Tribute Artist. He was also named "Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist" by Elvis Presley Enterprises in Memphis in 2011.

The look-alike, sound-alike artist has performed all across the country as "Elvis" in the traveling production of the Tony Award-winning sensation "Million Dollar Quartet" and was nominated as "Best Featured Actor." Additionally, he has performed as Elvis in various shows in Branson, MO, such as Tony Roi's Elvis Experience, Legends In Concert, 50's At The Hop and The Liverpool Legends. Cody also appeared on MTV's "My Super Sweet 16" and "Late Night with David Letterman," and at special events and entertainment venues throughout the United States, Canada and the UK.

The ardentsinging sensation has the raw talent and passion that Elvis himself exhibited when he first started. "My greatest joy is when I'm paying tribute to Elvis, his music and keeping his spirit alive with his fans," he declares.

Now he brings that passion to the Spencer, keeping the King's spirit alive at Spencer Theater where he appears with his band in a spot-on tribute concert sponsored by Sandra & Ron Carroll.
