The Julesworks Follies to Perform 15th Show at Aztec Café, 6/29

The Julesworks Follies, Santa Fe's Monthly Variety Show, miraculously carries on into our fifteenth show in our new slot, that last Saturday of the month at the Aztec Café, June 29th at 7pm, 317 Aztec Street.

Our very special guest for this show is musician Steve Terrell who promises to "break out his guitar" for some old fashioned fun. Terrell has been a loyal writer for the New Mexican and Pasatiempo and currently has the political beat. He hosts the great Sunday evening Terrell's world show on KSFR and has a Pasatiempo column of the same name. He is a local legend and treasure in many ways.

The Julesworks Monty Python Recreation Brigade Squadron Posse UnDead Frog will present the great Monty Python sketch of the AustralIan Bruces with the sing-a-long Philosopher's Song as well as our first attempt at the famous scene of the exploding man who ate too much in the restaurant from their Meaning of Life with the notorious line "it's wafer thin"!

Julesworks recently ventured into new material of classics to rip off doing scenes from the greatest American comedy Airplane! They will recreate from the previous month their rendition of the cockpit scenes with some key missing lines and offer a very special presentation of the famed "Jive Brothers". The cast for these homage rip offs includes: Stephen Jules Rubin, Stephen Rommel, Leticia Cortez and Tom Sibley.

Other returning performers are: author Leticia Cortez, storyteller Patrick Chavez and our great bellydancer extradionaire Chandler Rhinehart. Amy Johnson promises to offer a surprise 3 minute set.

Another very special addition is all around performer Daryl Wellington who returns, this time brining his new puppet troupe "Sun Pulling Freak Puppet Theater" to present their "Puppet Therapy".

Other special guests and performers await confirmation.

Rather than a door charge, we will reprise the Julesworks Raffle selling for a reasonable price tickets to win some donated art and goods from Santa Fe's finest. The Aztec Café offers its fine beverages and light snacks and treats.

The show continues its mission of offering a live safe environment for a cross section array of Santa Fe's performers and artists to share new work with a supporting and intimate audience, experiment in different genres, bring back old material or whatever suits their fancy.

A loyal troupe like crew has formed of people who perform each month as often as they can and we hope each show for at least one new performer. Each show has a host who guides the evening.

We plan to stage another Julesworks Follies Showcase (after the success of our first one in April) at the Santa Fe Playhouse, likely in September, so that our monthly show at the Aztec will be a sort of proving grounds to develop the highlights to stage at our great community Playhouse.
