Neil Simon's The Odd Couple", the story of the mismatched roommates Oscar Madison and Felix Ungar, has delighted audiences on Broadway (1965-1967), in movie theaters (1968), on television (1970-1975), and on stages around the country (1970-Present).

After Felix is thrown out of his house after twelve years of marriage, Oscar takes him in and gives him a place to live. There's a big problem, though. Oscar is an easygoing, sloppy sort of guy who enjoys life and doesn't mind living in a dirty apartment. Felix, on the other hand, is an up-tight, neurotic neat freak who can't stand any kind of dirt or disorder. The clash of wills is both inevitable and hilarious.

Directors Mike and Tish Miller have been involved in Albuquerque's theater community since the early 1980's. They opened The Keystone Theatre (now "Two Fools Tavern) on Central Avenue in 1987, producing 13 shows and several after-hours improv sessions. While they say they 'were retired as theater directors,' when The Adobe asked them to consider directing "The Odd Couple,"tThe Miller's immediate answer was an enthusiastic "Yes!" Shows they have previously directed at The Adobe include Come Back To The Five and Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean, Little Mary Sunshine, Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got The Will, The Gay Deceiver, Whales of August, The Exonerated and others.

The Adobe Theater's production of Neil Simon's The Odd Couple features Vern Poitras as Oscar and George Williams as Felix. Their "every-Friday-night" poker buddies are portrayed by Mike Van Ryzin (Murray), Ryan D. Morris (Speed), Jeff Hudson (Roy) and Greg Gardner (Vinnie). Maureen Trujillo and Lacey Bingham round out the cast as the Pigeon sisters, Cecily and Gwendolyn. (Or is that Gwendolyn and Cecily? Oscar never can get it right...).

The Odd Couple opens Friday, February 12th and plays 4 weekends through Sunday, March 6th, 2016. Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm, with a special 'Pay What You Will' performance (proceeds are shared between the cast and crew) on Thursday, February 25th, at 7.30pm. Tickets are $17, seniors and students $15. Reservations 505-898-9222 or online at www.adobetheater.org.
