Umbrella Theatre (Teatro Paraguas) Children's Program proudly brings "THE EMPEROR'S UGLY DAUGHTER" to the Teatro Paraguas Studio Theatre in November. Adapted especially for TPCTP and directed by Rebecca Morgan, local producer, director and playwright, our play begins with the poor Ugly Empress-To-Be being taunted by her ambitious cousins for being so ugly that she cannot even go outside for fear of frightening her subjects. What she doesn't know is that her Aunt is plotting to take over the throne on her niece's eighteenth birthday - for if The Young Empress is not wed by the time the clock strikes twelve noon on her birthday, she will lose all claim to the throne! Can the Wandering Student and his pet dragon save the day? And why is Sun Follower talking to dragonflies? Ah, Kind Listeners, you must attend the play to discover the most excellent outcome! The original score by Jeff Tarnoff livens up this already magical show, which is sure to deliver, divert, & delight.

"THE EMPEROR'S UGLY DAUGHTER " comes to TEATRO PARAGUAS, 3205 Calle Marie, Suite B, for the public on Saturday, November 21st, at 6:00 PM; and Sunday, November 22nd at 2:00 PM. Schools may bring their classes to the theatre on school days, November 18 - 20. Our story features young actors from TPCTP's after-school performing arts classes in the roles of the Ugly Empress, the Crafty Cousins, The Farmer, The Stage Manager, The Props Persons, Sun Follower, the Venerable Aunt, The Nasty Chancellors, and The Dragon.

Tickets are $10.00 per seat general admission, $5.00 students 17 and under. Reservations will be held at the Box Office until 15 minutes before showtime. For reservations/information, call TPCTP's voice mail at 471-3140 and leave a message.

This project is made possible in part by New Mexico Arts, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts; The City of Santa Fe Arts Commission and the 1% Lodger's Tax
