This classic production tells the story of Annie Sullivan and her student, blind and mute, Helen Keller. THE MIRACLE WORKER dramatizes the volatile relationship between the lonely teacher and her charge. Trapped in a secret, silent world, unable to communicate, Helen is violent, spoiled, almost sub-human and treated by her family as such. Desperate, the Keller's hire Annie Sullivan to serve as governess and teacher for their daughter. Only Annie realizes that there is a mind and spirit waiting to be rescued from the dark, tortured silence.
THE MIRACLE WORKER is brimming with local talent. The cast includes Michelle Roe and Alina Horak as Annie Sullivan and her blind, deaf, and mute student Helen Keller. The cast also includes Maria Held, Kevin McGuire, Everette Scott Ortiz, Carolyn Hogan, Keeshan Williams, Larry Welz, Scott Bing, Avery Dixon, Leo Chester, Marguerite Boone, Hannah Davis, Victoria Gonzales, Dylan Ann Holtrop, Molly-Geneva Korff, Samantha Seaman, Abigail Smith, Rogan Soloman, and Alice Worley.
THE MIRACLE WORKER will be directed by Nancy Sellin.
THE MIRACLE WORKER opens April 21 and runs through May 7, 2017. Performances will be at Albuquerque Little Theatre, 224 San Pasquale SW. Curtain times are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, and Sundays at 2:00 PM. There will be a Saturday matinee on April 29 at 2:00 PM and a Thursday performance on May 4 at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $23 for general public, $21 for Seniors (65+), $18 for Students (13 - University) and $14 Children (12 and under). We look forward to seeing you at the show!
