The Albuquerque Film & Music Experience (AFME) is back for another exciting year of entertainment. This year's program will run from June 6-11, and will be packed full of top-notch events with incredible films, filmmakers, actors, artists and, of course, legendary musicians. The event's 2017 honoree is esteemed and innovative artist, songwriter, producer, performer, record company owner and artist's advocate-T Bone Burnett, the man behind some of the most beloved and well-known movie and television soundtracks and Grammy® winning records.

"We are thrilled to honor T Bone Burnett, who is one of the most well known and most talented songwriters, composers and producers in the world, at this year's Albuquerque Film & Music Experience," said Ivan Wiener, Executive Director of AFME. "Over the years, AFME has continually brought in big names and incredible talent, and this year is no exception. We have continued to gain traction, and as a result, this year's honoree is second to none."

T Bone Burnett will be joining the 2017 Albuquerque Film & Music Experience for a weekend of film and music events, including an Intimate Conversation with T Bone Burnett, a screening of one of his top films and the presentation of the 2017 AFME Music Award.

T Bone Burnett has been in the music and entertainment industry for over 50 years and has won 13 Grammy® Awards, an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. While working as a freelance record producer, Burnett was asked by Bob Dylan to play guitar in his band on the now-legendary Rolling Thunder Revue tour. He made three (3) albums as a member of the Alpha Band before making a string of solo records.

He began working in film in the 1980s, first on Roy Orbison's A Black and White Night. His first major foray into film was his collaboration with the Coen Brothers on The Big Lebowski. He has since held multiple titles for numerous films, including The Hunger Games, Walk the Line, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Inside Llewyn Davis, and Crazy Heart, which he also produced. Burnett is the Executive Music Producer and Composer for the HBO series, True Detective, and was the Executive Music Producer and Co-Composer for the first season of ABC's Nashville. Currently, he is producing and narrating an animated series with Drew Christie called Drawn and Recorded.

He has worked and collaborated with musicians across many genres, including Elton John, B.B. King, Tony Bennett, k.d. lang, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, Elvis Costello, Taylor Swift, The Civil Wars, Ryan Bingham, Steve Earle and Leon Russell.

"I can think of no one more deserving of this award than T Bone Burnett, whose influences and contributions to the entertainment industry are endless," added Wiener. "And to make the news even more exciting, Burnett will be attending this year's AFME events. We hope all Albuquerqueans will come out and take advantage of the once-in-a-lifetime experience of seeing T Bone Burnett in person."
