No-Strings Theatre Company Presents THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, 9/28-10/14

No-Strings Theatre Company presents the second production of its 2012-13 Season, Oscar Wilde's "The Importance of Being Earnest." The entertaining and engaging production opens September 28 through October 14 at the Black Box Theatre, 430 N Downtown Mall in Las Cruces.

Directed by Dale Pawley, the comedy of manners and errors focuses on Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff, a pair of 20-something bachelors who both take on the same assumed identity in order to court the women they desire. Called by Wilde himself "a trivial comedy for serious people", this production features a mix of familiar and new faces for the local theatre community.

Jack and Algernon are played by J. Grady Easterling and Dustin Hadfield, Gwendolyn and Cecily by Jordan Kelley and Ashley Garcia, and Lady Bracknell is portrayed by LCCT and NSTC veteran Kathi-Jane. Rounding out The Cast are McKensi Karnes as Miss Prism, Isac Quezada as Dr. Chasuble; Zac Egan as Lane, and Mark Hammersmith as Merriman.

"The Importance of Being Earnest" performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m., Sunday matinees on October 7 and 14, at 2:30 p.m., and Thursday, October 11, at 7 p.m. A Champagne and cake reception will follow the opening night performance on Friday, September 28. Tickets are $10.00 for regular admission, $9.00 for students and seniors over 65, and $7.00 for the October 11 performance. Reservations may be made by calling the theatre at (575) 523-1223.
