"THE SAME LIFE OVER" RUNS SEPTEMBER 25 THROUGH OCTOBER 11 AT THE BLACK BOX THEATRE

"The Same Life Over," written and directed by Tony Award winning playwright Mark Medoff, runs September 25 through October 11 at the Black Box Theatre, 430 N Downtown Mall in Las Cruces. A child disappears and the detective investigating the disappearance, childless herself, assumed the father of the child is guilty. The father, bereft at having looked away from his child for a moment is willing to take the blame for the loss of his child, guilty or not. From this simple plot, "The Same Life Over" spins a complex web of deceit and compassion.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., Sunday matinees on October 4 and 11 at 2:30 and a Thursday evening performance on October 8 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 regular, $9.00 students and seniors over 65 and all seats on Thursdays are $7.00.

"MEGAN MCQUEEN: UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL AT THE BLACK BOX THEATRE" ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 27.

Local performer and director Megan McQueen will present a personal evening of story and song at the Black Box Theatre, 430 N Downtown Mall on Sunday September 27th at 2:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.. "Megan McQueen: Up Close and Personal at the Black Box Theatre" follows McQueen's most recent production, Boba Cabaret's run of "The Musical of Musicals! (The Musical)." Its sold out run prompted additional showings at the Black Box Theatre, which were also sold out.

"I've been doing so many snazzy revues at Boba and bigger nights of song for the last couple of years, so I really want to do an intimate, personal show. It'll be over a dozen songs that I haven't performed here, tied to the stories of my adventures performing in and attending theater in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Texas and New York." The accomplished and versatile David Cunniff will play piano for the songs. The music will range from Kiss Me, Kate's playful "Why Can't You Behave" to Jesus Christ Superstar's soothing "Everything's Alright." The stories will shift from comical tales of backstage antics to emotional revelations about trying to maintain a career in the theater. Tickets are $10.00 and are General Admission.
