For more than 40 years The Platters' hit recordings have remained classic American standards, literally defining the genre of rock & roll love ballads. Today respected producer Larry Marshak's tribute to the Platters continues to evoke and pay homage to the original group and their one of a kind lead singer, Tony Williams. Although all of the original members of the Platters have passed on, their legacy remains intact with a group that includes four of America's premier singers.

Incorporating many of the more than twenty Platters top hit records along with many great American standards, and spanning several generations of music, the show remains stunning and evocative. Built around the talents of legendary lead singer Tyrone Sweet, the group captures the essence of the American rock and roll ballads for which the Platters were always famous. Their performance includes such great songs as "Great Pretender," "My Prayer," "Only You," "Twilight Time" and "Unchained Melody" - each one a classic among the greatest of America's musical heritage. Of course, the unique element of this group, which appears center stage at the Spencer at 7 p.m. Saturday, December 1st, remains its reliance on both male and female singers to capture the group's essence.

Prepare for an evening of classic rock and roll, encompassing everything from the
raucous and wild to the smooth and compelling and everything in between with more than twenty of America's greatest hit songs that gave birth to rock and roll. Excellent seats are available for $69 & $66. Call the Spencer Box Office at 575.336.4800 or go to www.spencertheater.com for tickets. A chicken piccata buffet ($20) also will be held in the lobby pre-performance at 5 p.m.
