Julesworks Follies #52 Salute to Dramatic, Poetic Theatrical Arts and a Nod to Sam Shepard Edition will be on Wednesday Sep 13th at 8:30 PM at Le Jean Cocteau Cinema. Theatre, Music, Comedy, Literature and much much more from Julesworks Santa Fe's Monthly (Mostly) Variety Show, on-going for over five years.
The evening, as ever, will present a flowing array of genres and wealth of talent including (in no determined order): troupe members Danette Sills, Rose Provan, Johny Broomdust, Ellchemi Michelle Ossorio, Yvette Michelle Martinez, & our youth outreach sensation GabeCat plus joining for the first time Bj Stokey along with Mark Westberg. Also set to perform are our resident musician Gregg Turner, carrying on his tradition of playing the opening song and our loyal on off on again performer Experimentalist Andy Kirkpatrick as well as musician performer Stuart Carruthers who often also joins in our skit activities as well as playing his own music. Westberg and Broomdust will also play their music throughout the show peppered between performances, playlets, improv and more. Also, we expect returns and newcomers for our Open Slot Slot in which other audience members can jump up at the end of the show to share a short performance piece.
The Core Troupe will present a mix of some original material, including scripts written by returning newcomer Rose Provan as well as readings of source material including the likes of their root heroes Monty Python and Fry and Laurie with an added salute to Sam Shepard, including readings from his collection of short short playlets. The Core Troupe, along with some of the Loyalists, will also present more of their recurring skits and characters including CatTalk, Chatting with God, and more to sometimes also involve audience members! Last show loyal audience member Deborah Lee agreed to perform the day of the show!
