Duke City Repertory Theatre presents DEATH AND THE MAIDEN, directed by company member Katie Becker Colón and written by Ariel Dorfman. The show features Artistic Director Amelia Ampuero (Animal Farm) as Paulina Salas, company member Ezra Colón (The 39 Steps) as Gerardo Escobar, and the return of DCRT favorite John Hardy (Oleanna, A Christmas Carol) as Roberto Miranda. The production runs October 8 -18, 2015 at The Cell Theatre, 7001st. Street NW 87102.

Years have passed since political prisoner, Paulina, suffered at the hands of her captor; a man whose face she never saw, but whose voice she can still recall with terrifying clarity. When an act of kindness brings the past to her door, Paulina decides to take justice -- and revenge-into her own hands. But one important question remains: Does she accuse the right man?

DEATH AND THE MAIDEN kicks off the 6th season for Albuquerque's "Best Theatre Company" (Albuquerque the Magazine). The show is an Olivier recipient for "Best New Play," and Duke City Rep's production promises to be a gripping tale of repression, doubt, and survival.

It is our aim to make this art accessible and compelling to not only the theatre community, but the entire community at large. Our theatre resides not in bricks and mortar, but in that which can be shared between human beings immersed in a created world.
