On September 1, 1954 an unknown young man walked into the recording studio in the Memphis Recording Service building at 706 Union Ave, Memphis, Tennessee and walked out having cut a record that would define its own genre of music.
That single, 'Hey Porter', was released on the Sun Records label on June 21, 1955 and a legend was born.
Few artists can claim that they are an entire genre of music unto themselves but if you try and define this man’s body of work, you are left with one conclusion.
Johnny Cash is that artist!
