This is the untold story of Aboriginal soldiers in World War I. Shunned in their own country, they stepped up to defend the nation in its greatest time of need. They fought and died for the British Commonwealth, sharing horror, survival and camaraderie with mates in the trenches who ordinarily couldn’t buy them a beer. An all-male, all-Indigenous cast evokes these fearless and heroic men, largely unknown to history, who helped win the war but lost their battle back home.
