Away by Michael Gow at Stirling Community Theatre

Acts On Avenue is thrilled to announce its inaugural production, Away, a poignant play by acclaimed Australian playwright Michael Gow. This groundbreaking debut will take place from February 13-16, 2024, at the Stirling Community Theatre, located at 9 Avenue Rd, Stirling.

Set against the backdrop of the summer of 1967, Away follows the intertwined journeys of three Australian families during a transformative Christmas. The play delves into profound themes of loss, self-discovery, and the evolving identity of Australia, making it a resonant experience for audiences of all ages.

Under the mentorship of Di Mason, lead tutor at Acts On Avenue, director Harri Wolff is eager to showcase the talents of the adult students involved in this production. "We’re excited to present Away as our debut show," Mason states. "It perfectly highlights the skills and passion of our talented adult performers and embodies the spirit of Australian theatre."
