The Firm's final concert for 2015 features the stunning voices of two of Adelaide's finest sopranos, Emma Horwood and Alexandra Bollard, and award winning pianist Marianna Grynchuk, performing together for the first time, on Monday November 2, 8pm, Elder Hall.

Firm Director, Quentin Grant, says "There's nothing quite like the sound of two sopranos in perfect concert and Emma and Ali, having sung together so often with Adelaide Chamber Singers and for The Firm, make a magically sumptuous sound that is a wonderful pleasure to both write for and to listen to."

The sopranos will be joined by the celebrated young pianist and Firm favourite, Marianna Grynchuk, who last month won the 2015 Peter Schodde Memorial Piano Scholarship and has just returned from an intensive recording session for the Sheva Collection in Italy.

Emma Horwood says she's looking forward to performing again with her close friend, Ali, and with Marianna for the first time, "Marianna is such an expressive and skilled player and a sensitive accompanist."

The trio will continue this year's focus on Johannes Brahms with a beautiful selection of his vocal duets and works by both his contemporaries and The Firm directors.

Marianna Grynchuk says she is especially looking forward to performing the "beautiful rediscovered gems of music" by Dvo?ák and Brüll. "We are also very lucky to have two new song cycles to delve into - Raymond's expressive and harmonically luscious Liederbuchlein and Quentin's evocatively haunting, almost surreal Winter Songs."

Program:

Johannes Brahms - vocal duets

Quentin Grant - Winter Songs

Antonín Dvo?ák - Moravian Duets

Raymond Chapman Smith - A little Songbook (world premiere)

Ignaz Brüll - Duets for piano and two sopranos

Patrons are warmly invited to join the performers and composers for drinks and tortes after the concert.

Tickets at the door: $12, $7 concession, secondary and tertiary music students free.
