For the third of their 2013 concert series the Firm will welcome back, from their wanderings in Europe, two of Adelaide's finest young singers: Robert and Kate Macfarlane, who'll be performing with the wonderful pianist Leigh Harrold on Monday September 2nd in Elder Hall. In recent years the Firm have presented Macfarlane and Harrold in performances of the three great Schubert song cycles that have left the critics enthralled.

Now, to continue the journey, the Firm's composer directors, Quentin Grant and Raymond Chapman Smith have excavated and reassembled a new set of 'Wanderer Songs' that delve deep into the heartland and alpine air of High Romance.

Kate will perform the song of another romantic wanderer: that of Mignon, from Goethe's novel Wilhelm Meister, in three settings by Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann. The two will come together to share a romantic setting of Rilke love poems by Grant.

Also featured in the concert will be Herbstklavier by Raymond Chapman Smith, and Morgenstern Songs by Graeme Dudley.

Concerts held in Elder Hall, Mondays, 8pm: Concert 3 - September 2, Concert 4 - October 7, Concert 5 - November 4. Tickets: $12 ($7 conc) available at the door or through http://www.trybooking.com/CWCP. Secondary and tertiary music students free. Program details: www.firmmusic.com.au.

The Firm is an Adelaide based organisation that promotes the performance of new solo and chamber works, particularly those of South Australian composers. It also provides a performance platform for some of Australia's finest young musicians and tours internationally.

Diary Note: The Firm's 100th Concert will be celebrated on October 7th 8pm in Elder Hall with Schubert's Piano Sonata in A major and works by Philip Glass, Anne Cawrse and Raymond Chapman Smith.
