The Corinthian Singers present an afternoon of contemplative music Ubi Caritas -Where there is love at St John's Anglican Church.
A celebration of shadow and light.
In a tumultuous time, the Corinthian Singers of Adelaide seek light in seemingly endless shade. Join us for a celebration of music that lifts us. Featuring Rachmaninoff's Bogoroditse Devo, Mendelssohn's Verleih uns frieden, and Palestrina's Sicut cervus in contrast with the bleakness of Bairstow's setting of Lamentations of Jermiah, and sailors' tribulations in Herbert Sumsion's vivid They that go down to the sea in ships. Three settings of Ubi caritas provide a gentle call for love and charity with Jonathon Dove's Gloria a jubilant conclusion. Where there is love - light shines. 3.00pm Sunday 4 June 2017Tickets at the door or online at https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=280618&.
