Famed psychic film-noir detective Dirk Darrow returns to the Fringe with his award winning cross-genre brand of comedy, mindreading, and story-telling in the Adelaide premiere of 6 Quick Dick Tricks playing from 3 to 18 March (previews 3, 4 March; opening 6 March) in The Speakeasy at Gluttony corner East Terrace and Rundle Road, Adelaide.

Winner of BEST OF FEST Awards at the London, Edmonton, Victoria, Ottawa and Winnipeg Fringe Festivals 6 Quick Dick Tricks was also nominated for Best Comedy at FRINGE WORLD (Perth) in 2017.

Created by Tim Motley, 6 Quick Dick Tricks builds on the international success of his previous Dirk Darrow solo shows (2 Ruby Knockers, 1 Jaded Dick and Dirk Darrow: NCSSI as well as the sell-out success seasons of Prohibition, which he wrote, directed and starred in), this final instalment in the Darrow trilogy is a crazy multiple cross genre experiment putting the psychic back into the theme of psychic detective.

6 Quick Dick Tricks along with its predecessor Dirk Darrow shows, remain the only stage shows in existence in the world which incorporate magic or mentalism effects to tell a show length story that's about something (anything) other than magic. In this case, it's about a serial killer. Normally narratives and magical entertainment are not to be found in the same work.

Tim Motley says, 'The show is heavy with comedy and storytelling but the stress is on the effects, which are all tricks of the mind and there are more of them than any other show I've done. And they are ambitious. 6 Quick Dick Tricks also stands out as a fish out of water story, placing Dirk in the present time, rather than his own time of the 1930s & 40s.

Tim Motley has performed throughout 47 countries from shantytowns and riots in South Africa to celebrity audiences such as Richard Branson, Baz Luhrmann, and Lachlan Murdoch. The creator of his one-man shows, and ensemble circus cabaret shows, Motley has performed in well over one hundred European, North American, and Australasian festivals. He has also worked as stand-up comic, a cruise ship entertainer, a street performer, and a radio show host.
