Adelaide's adopted pianist composer Rich Batsford presents an evening of enchanting piano music, in the elegant State Dining Room at iconic Adelaide venue, Ayers House.

Rich's enjoyable and engaging solo piano music combines artful classical influences with an easy going contemporary ear. The performance will feature Rich's original compositions including some new work alongside a suite of highlights taken from his debut album 'Valentine Court'. Since his Fringe debut last year, Rich has been delighting Adelaide audiences in various local venues and even on the city streets, where Rich's busking debut was documented by local film maker Dan Hamilton in this lovely video.

Rich also features a suite of highlights of the wonderfully melodic and beautiful solo piano music of Ludovico Einaudi, perhaps the world's most famous piano composer.

Audiences have one other treat in store, when Rich will demonstrate his own remarkable skills as a pianist composer by improvising a piano piece live on stage. Each night, the improvisation will be recorded and every member of the audience will be given a free copy of the unique composition which they will see produced before their very eyes. This marks the February album release of 'In the Moment' a collection of recorded improvisations.

Rich says 'Improvising live onstage is an amazing challenge with just a hint of danger. I've done it only twice before and so far its gone really well, but of course, it could potentially go horribly wrong, so fingers will be crossed, metaphorically speaking at least!'
