Eminent interstate organist Michael Fulcher, Director of Music, Christchurch, South Yarra, Vic, will give a special organ recital at Pilgrim Church, Flinders Street, Adelaide at 2.30pm Sunday 1 September.

Michael's program is a celebration of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II plus other great majestic music

Tannhäuser Overture - Wagner
Grand March (from Aida) Verdi

Michael was previously organist at St John's Cathedral in Brisbane, and Director of Music at Wellington Cathedral, New Zealand.

He is visiting Adelaide at the invitation of the Chairman of the SA Branch of the Royal School of Church Music (SA Branch) and whilst in Adelaide will conduct the annual RSCM festival taking place in August.

Organ buffs will be interested in some of the history of the Pilgrim Church organ. It is the largest church organ in South Australia. After a history of relocations the organ was rebuilt in Pilgrim Church by the local firm of Gunstar Organ Builders in 1970. Various additions and upgrades have been carried out since, mostly by the local firm of Georges Stephens Organ Builders. It is currently maintained by Richard Larritt organ builders.

This special event concert is supported by the Royal Society of Church Music and Sheila Bryce Publicity.
